Park Update on Covid-19
23 December 2020
The recent restrictions announced by the First Minister and the Prime Minister on 19th December have effected what happens on our Parks during the Christmas and New Year period.
Currently only customers from Tier 1 can travel to the Park but must leave before the end of Christmas Day. Then from 00.01hrs on Boxing Day the First Minister has put the whole of Scotland into Tier 4 for 3 weeks which involves strict travel restrictions and rules.
Therefore customers cannot travel to their holiday home under the current legislation, not even for essential repairs and no cross border travel between Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales will be permitted.
We ask all our owners to follow these rules, made by the government, to keep everyone safe during these difficult times. So please stay at home. For further information please use this link www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-protection-levels/pages/protection-level-4/
On behalf of everyone at Brighouse Bay have a happy Christmas and all the best for 2021. Let’s hope it will be better than 2020 for everyone.
Reopening of our Park
The Scottish Government announced yesterday that self-contained holiday homes with their own facilities can open on July 3rd. It was a surprise, but finally some good news….
Our phased reopening to ensure your safety and that of our staff and the local community is as follows:
We are ready to welcome you back on July 3rd. Further information will be emailed to you prior to your return and what to expect when you arrive at our park.
Self-catering Holiday Homes
These will be available for hire from July 17th. Bookings made prior to this date will be contacted to rearrange.
Our park will be open for our seasonal tourers from 4th July onwards. This is by appointment only, please email us to arrange a suitable time.
Touring and Motorhomes
Only tourers and motorhomes with their own self-contained toilet and shower will be able to use our park from July 15th.
Our toilet and shower facilities will be closed until further notice. Bookings made prior to this date will be contacted to rearrange.
Please be understanding and patient, our staff are working hard to contact you as quickly as possible.
To keep you and our staff safe some facilities will be unavailable. Please be aware of this when booking. Until further notice, the shop, outdoor swimming pool, games room, tv room, laundry, toilet and shower facilities will be closed. These are constantly under review and if and when we can re-open, some or all of these, we will advise.
There will be further updates.
We look forward to welcoming you back very soon ….
28 March 2020
During these unprecedented times we thank all our customers for their continued and valued support.
We remind all our customers including static owners, seasonal tourers, tourers and campers our Park is closed following government rules
We understand customers will be wanting an update on visiting your holiday home/tourer on the Park, your existing booking(s) and future bookings. However, following government guidelines and not risking staff health we have a limited number of staff addressing your calls and emails. We also have staff working remotely.
You will therefore understand we have lots of customers and queries to deal with, so please be patient, we will get back to everyone as soon as we can. It will take some time to address all your queries.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.
Stay at Home and Stay Safe.
21 March 2020
These are unprecedented times. We all have a responsibility to consider not just ourselves but the people of our country, our local community and those on this park. We are having to make decisions and take actions which were unimaginable a few weeks ago.
To this end, we are closing all facilities on our parks with immediate effect.
We are speaking to all customers with holiday accommodation and touring bookings in the next few days to arrange alternative dates when the crisis is over.
We ask our private owners and seasonal tourers to be sensitive to the views and needs of the local community and NHS and to not stay in their holiday home at this time. For those already here, you need to consider leaving at your earliest convenience. If there is any reason why you cannot leave, you need to discuss that with us now.
We are expecting the Government to give us more guidance very shortly. We expect a clear message that holiday parks must not stay open for business.
We will be making every effort to ensure our staff are looked after during this period.
Please call or email us on firstname.lastname@example.org if you require assistance. We ask those ringing the office to be mindful of the emotional strain our team are under, as we try to help you in the best way we can.
We will keep you updated on our Facebook page.
Thank you for the patience, kindness and understanding you’ve shown us. We hope to see you after this crisis to celebrate our landmark 50th birthday this year. Wishing you and your loved ones all the best. Be safe
Welcome to Barlochan Holiday Park
Enjoy a beautiful hillside setting overlooking the tidal estuary of the Urr Water to Kippford and the Solway Coast. Our friendly park offers an ideal location for an interest filled holiday break in this scenic south west corner of Scotland.
The tranquillity of Barlochan makes it the ideal environment for a peaceful, relaxing caravan, glamping or camping holiday. Linked with the park is Big Barwhanny Loch just a short walk away where the keen fisherman can try his patience and skill in catching a fish.
- Outdoor heated pool (seasonal)
- Games room
- Outdoor children’s play area
- Fishing nearby
The local village pub in the small village of Palnackie is only a short walk away. The towns of Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie and Dumfries are close by. Dalbeattie Forest with its miles of fantastic walking trails, wildlife and 7stanes mountain bike trails is also nearby.
Barlochan has holiday home accommodation to let offering weekly and short break bookings. The park welcomes tourers, motorhomes, tents and for the campers who want extra comfort there are heated glamping pods.
We are a family business and we’ve been welcoming visitors to the Solway coast for almost 50 years.
Barlochan is one of four holiday parks we own in Dumfries and Galloway. The small hillside park joined us in 1982.
Many years have passed since then, and we’re lucky to have our fantastic wardens Jan and David Crooks on-site to take care of and improve the park.
We have several holiday homes available for sale on-site. Just click here to view more information or give us a call on 01557 870 267 to find out what homes we currently have for sale
